This and much more is what Classical Composer and Pianist Wolfgang Von Maia set out to do in 'Six Psalms', his latest release on Homemade Gifts Music.

Recorded through the span of 6 years at the Hermitage of the Sacred Heart, these 6 'piano psalms' constitute musical allegories of 6 psalms accidentally found many decades ago while Wolfgang served at the Enclosed Monastery of Divine Mercy.

As time unveiled the transformative power of such psalms, Wolfgang tried to express their message through music, carefully transmuting words into sounds, phrases into compasses, meaning into emotion. This conversion allowed Wolfgang to receive his own musical voice: ''I found myself playing the piano like a child, completely unsure of what I was doing and yet enjoying each and every second of it''

The unique feature of Wolfgang's music is how gracefully everything weaves together. The notes rarely fall in the expected places, and it's precisely this adventurous quality that makes 'Six Psalms' such a spellbinding record and Wolfgang a remarkable pianist: never afraid of leaving spaces between notes, never afraid of hitting those bittersweet spots, never afraid of taking his time to express what he wants to express in the exact way as he wants to express it. Far from being a mere stylistic or aesthetic option, his appraoch to piano is an embodied statement against the exigencies of the Zeitgeist:

''In a time in which we are forced to rush out with everything, I want to go in the exact opposite direction. I want to take as much time as I can in doing each and every thing in life. I want to savor every aspect of it. I want to do less and enjoy more. I want to say less and express more. I want to play less and connect more. It's my hope that this little record may create a tiny sanctuary within the listener from which to pause the world and see things anew, from which to reevaluate life and start again as a whole new person.''
